Program Details

This is an excellent opportunity for parents of incoming MSU students to take a break from the hustle and bustle of summer orientation. You'll float a section of the scenic Yellowstone River with other parents and MSU staff. You will have the opportunity to ask questions directly to administrators and share experiences with other parents, all while immersed in the natural beauty of Montana. Trips leave from the Outdoor Recreation Building at 4pm and return to campus at ~9pm. We will put on the river at ~5pm and take off the river at ~7pm in the town of Livingston. Folks will then have a chance to go grab a bite to eat and a drink at one of the many restaurants in Downtown Livingston before loading back up and heading over the hill back to Bozeman. All transportation and equipment needed for the trip is provided, dinner is on your own. This trip is open to all ability and comfort levels on the water, the section of river contains mild rapids and is classified as class 2.
